Proquest Central - subscription cancelled
Our subscription to Proquest Central database was terminated on 31st December 2017 and we have replaced it by a subscription to EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS).
This decision followed a comprehensive review of the content provided by Proquest Central database, which did not match our level of expectations in providing sufficient relevant resources to our users.
We now subscribe to EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) which provides an integrated index to most relevant Library resources within the space sector. EBSCO EDS is an online research tool that "pulls together" many external sources so that they can be explorer using a single search box . In other words, rather than searching several sources, you can do an EDS search and get a single list of results coming from various sources. In fact, you could think of EDS as the Library's version of Google.
It's powerful and should be of help finding resources for your research. Just keep in mind that, like Google, it may return a large number of results and you will need to use judgment when assessing their value.
You can continue to use individual databases like ScienceDirect, AIAA ARC, NASA NTRS as you have done in the past or use EDS which will search in all these databases simultaneously.
Access and authentification
EDS is available to all Library users on- and off-campus. Authentication with your ISU network ID will be required.
