MSS22 Library resources and services during internship
Access to e-resources
Remote access to Databases and eBooks is available during internships.
Diversify your content! Beside using GoogleScholar or Google, use scholary databases and open-access repositories. You can consult our selection of databases by subject in Databases page and our Subject guides which lists recommended resources by ISU disciplines to find good sources of information.
We recommend you search EBSCO EDS to search trusted and academic sources which include main publishers (Springer, Elsevier, Wiley...), scientific societies (IEEE, IOP, SAE, AIAA, ASCM...) and open access sources (NASA STI, Bielefield Academic Search Engine, university repositories).
Past INT reports with grade B- or above, of MSS classes (2011 to MSS2021) are available in pdf from the Library website.
If you need an item which is beyond a paywall and you cannot get access via your INT institution, send a request to ISU librarian.

Are there any restrictions on the use on ISU library licensed databases during internship?
You may use ISU library's licensed databases to prepare for your INT report by reading materials about the industry or developing knowledge you may need, but YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED to share the full-text of reports or articles or eBooks from ISU databases at internships, with i.e. your manager or team member or clients, etc.
Books in print will not be sent over to you during your internship. We suggest you search WorldCat to find books and locate them in libraries nearby your place.
If you need a book which you can not get hold of, send a request to ISU librarian.

Citing sources in your INT reports and PowerPoint presentations
In case you have access to databases within your INT company or university, always comply with your host institution's licensing terms for subscription products.
Don't plagiarize! Remember your ethical and legal copyright obligations; cite all sources you use in your presentations and reports. Giving credit to the sources you reference in your presentation is not only about compliance with copyright laws (database vendors require citations as part of their licensing agreements); it's also a critical part of building credibility and trust with your INT host.
Don't forget to always attribute accurately and completely all datas and excerpts in your deliverables. For guidelines for correctly citing sources in your bibliographies, see the Anglia Ruskin Harvard style guide and ISU library quick guide for referencing.

Use of library spaces and on-site resources
You are more than welcome to work at the Library and borrow books if you have the opportunity to visit the library in person during the summer. Check the library opening hours on Google calendar and email the librarian to announce your visit!
