Description: |
This report puts forth a feasibility study on a preliminary CubeSat mission for ISU. Thisassessment identifies how a CubeSat
program can benefit ISU by examining the potential CubeSatprogram from an administrative perspective and then providing the details for a 1U remote sensingmission. Built on a multidisciplinary curriculum, a CubeSat can provide students with technical skills and connect the university with the industry through a fully operational satellite. An earth observation mission would enhance the existing curriculum of remote sensing lectures and field trip, by offering students opportunities to access raw data and images. With a simpler design concept that uses commercial products and open-source coding, the school would be able to complete the detailed design, integration, and testing of a 1U remote sensing CubeSat within the two-year thesis program. |
