Description: | The objective of this study was to generate a low-cost design for a small supersonic rocket featuring composite materials. The following report details the individual component selection process based on an engineering trade-off methodology supported by industrial and academic underpinning. This is also supported through extensive application of computerized performance modelling on software packages such as Rocksim to further validate the design and selection of individual components. The final stage of the report includes the configuration and integration of a final design based on the components selected earlier in the report as well as detailed predictions on the performance of the rocket in its final configuration. |
