Description:
|
As part of Copernicus, ESA is developing Sentinel-4, an operational mission that will continuously measure the composition of Earth’s atmosphere over Europe and North Africa. From a geostationary orbit Sentinel-4 will provide hourly data on critical gaseous constituents of the troposphere as well as aerosol and cloud properties. This continuous stream of scientific data will be used for Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Services for air quality monitoring and forecasting, and for other fundamental chemistry and climate applications.
This report provides a high-level description of the main aspects of the Copernicus Sentinel-4 mission.
