Description: |
This report details NASAs motivations, shows how the Russian Mir space station achieved their commercialization goals, and focuses on three key areas that will help contribute to commercial success: these being space tourism, filming in space, and advertising partnerships. Flourishing commercialization of the ISS depends on successfully motivating the market to see its value, and not just through industry and space enthusiasts. Recommendations are to develop a new brand and audience through a commercialization office for Tourism, Entertainment and Media, capitalize on corporate partnerships, and develop a more
human-focused approach. This new era for the ISS will still champion international cooperation and diversity, but with a stronger link between technology and culture. It will also interact with everybody on the planet through partnerships as never before, helping it become the Peoples Space Station. |
