Description: | This Individual Project explores the concept of on-orbit bio-printing, from its technical aspects to its principal applications, from both the perspectives of in-space and on-Earth final users. Concerning the latter, this report will analyze the business potential of the technology, focusing on the manufacturing of organs suitable for transplant in live patients. To ensure a realistic analysis, the considered time horizon is comprised within approximately a decade from the time this report was written. The work is concluded by a high-level business case, developed using US company LambdaVision as a blueprint to analyze how a company manufacturing goods in space could approach the sale of such products on Earth. |
