Description: | The software for the automation of a ground station at International Space University has been implemented. Profound research of the solutions has been performed on the previously implemented setup, different technical approaches were analyzed and new requirements proposed. According to them, the updated hardware and software infrastructure of the ISU Ground Station (GS) has been deployed and tested, showing very promising results. These results show, in particular, that ISU GS can operate in a fully automated mode without any dependencies, providing reliable radio sessions with satellites. The full-cycle development process has been abided by. The final architecture of software has been reconsidered and designed to be scalable and flexible. During the beta-testing stage, tests were performed on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) weather satellites (pictures of the Earth received) and the International Space Station (ISS) (voice transmissions of astronauts received). The open-source product has been published and well documented. |
