Description: |
The International Lunar University (ILU) aims to lead humanity’s next giant leap by establishing a state-of-the-art educational and research institution focused on the Moon. As humanity stands on the brink of becoming a space-faring species, ILU is dedicated to equipping future generations with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in this new frontier. The university’s mission centers around two key value elements: Education and Research. These elements are enabled by three supporting pillars: Business and Management, Policy and Law, and Infrastructure and Technology, ensuring a comprehensive approach to lunar and space studies. ILU’s vision is to foster a thriving human community beyond Earth, guided by the principles of being International, Intercultural, Interdisciplinary, and Interplanetary (the 4I’s). The institution will provide interdisciplinary education and foster innovative research initiatives, promoting a global and inclusive environment that integrates diverse cultural perspectives.
The development of ILU is structured across three primary locations—Earth, space stations, and the Moon—organized into short-term, mid-term, and long-term stages. These stages will progressively expand the university’s capabilities, ultimately supporting a sustainable human presence on the Moon as a foundation for interplanetary exploration. By advancing lunar education and research, ILU seeks to pave the way for future lunar settlers, who could be referred to as "selenauts," and contribute to humanity’s long-term prosperity in space exploration. |
