Description:
|
With the completion of the combined Gemini VI-A and Gemini VII missions, most of the major goals of the program had been achieved. EVA had been performed, rendezvous have been proven viable, and long duration space flights have been shown to be feasible.
Gemini VIII conducted a rendezvous with its Agena target vehicle and the first successful docking in space, on Gemini IX astronaut Gene Cernan found that walking in space is one thing but working in space is another, Gemini X and XI worked to perfect rendezvous, docking and EVA techniques.
