Description: | This project will identify the impact of launch activities on human health and the environment by examining the various aspects of the launch industry: manufacturing, handling, transporting, and storage of chemical propellants; launch operations; dropped stages; and launch failures. In addition, ecoSpace will conduct a literature review on green propellants that are better for the environment and will discuss these issues with experts. The project is also reviewing current international environmental treaties, space policies, and environmental launch regulations. Based on this research, ecoSpace will propose a set of initiatives to promote sustainability for the launch industry. |
