Description: | The Mars-X project identifies the problems associated with sending humans to Phobos as a preliminary step to explore Mars, instead of missions to the Moon and Near-Earth Asteroids. Mars-X combines the intermediate goals of a low gravity asteroid rendezvous with the preparatory goals of observing and preparing for a human mission to the Martian surface. Phobos will help reveal not only the geological development of Mars itself but also provide numerous scientific answers related to the formation of the planets. |
