Description: | The old ways of conducting research, development, and innovation are changing and steadily replaced with new frameworks such as Open Innovation (OI). These changes are progressively entering the space sector. This team project has investigated the potential of applying Open Innovation models in space by exploring the theoretical backdrop, identifying the most promising applications, capturing the limitations, and providing recommendations. The second part describes a business case for asteroid mining. Finally the values of Open Innovation in space mission design is compared and contrasted with todays closed innovation practices. |
