Description: | Being at the dawn of the 21st century, regarded by many as the beginning of a space age, there is a need to investigate new and innovative concepts in order to sustain technological development driving humanity’s expansion into the cosmos. The examination of the research carried out in the field of Orbital Power Stations led to the conclusion, that large-scale high-power solar farms sending energy down to earth are technologically feasible, however, immensity of resource investment, needed for development and deployment of such system, renders this approach economically very challenging. |
