Description: | To put this report into the context of the ISU framework, the author begins by briefly discussing the purpose of art in general and gives an inside view of the relationship and interaction between Art and Science with special attention on Aesthetics, Semiology and Perception. This report describes the author’s process during the work on the project, from concepts used, research done in identifying similar concepts used in art, choices made and the final options that lead to the final proposal. Key elements of the proposed artwork, that this project report presents, are the monoliths. Sources of inspiration for this work were the famous book and film 2001: Space Odyssey of Arthur C. Clarke and Stanley Kubrik, respectively. A discussion about these symbolic objects, their interpretations and an explanation of why they were chosen are given before the final description of the artwork project. |
