Description: | This report reviews previous work done by government agencies such as NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) on 3D printing with lunar regolith simulant and addresses the issues found using this material. The main focus of this report is the series of experimental tests using an infrared laser at IREPA lab to melt lunar regolith simulant using different power settings to see how the material is affected. In another test the regolith is manually layered to ensure the regolith is capable of bonding to itself without any adhesive and therefore has the ability to create structures. |
