Description: | This report aims to create a set of human integration requirements that can be used to generate an architectural brief in designing structures for long-term space exploration in order to combat the psychological stressors and maximize human performance outputs. The data gathered in this report is based on anecdotal accounts and quantifiable survey responses from crew members of past human space flight missions, and analog simulations. From this analyzed data the report will propose and examine an example of an architectural design solution in providing a high standard of life for prolonged human space habitation, while simultaneously examining the importance of human centric and universal design in relation to such psychological, physiological and psychosocial effects of living in isolated contained environments. The report has been written with ESAs moon village concept as a driving force and is aimed at dealing with the human factor elements of designing positive psychological environments for prolonged space exploration. |
